Society Media co-founded the national Charity Communications conference in 2006. It is the UK’s biggest annual event for everyone involved in charity sector media, marketing, press and communications work and campaigning sectors.

Society Media and its partners identified the need for an event to allow communications professionals in the third sector to use the media to raise their profile and achieve their goals in delivering change.

The event is designed for organisations of all sizes and covers burning issues including crisis PR, the use of case studies, pitching to editors, the use of online media and employing shock tactics.

The event, which attracts more than 200 delegates, has attracted high-profile speakers from the media including PR guru Max Clifford, former PM spokesman Alistair Campbell, former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie and BBC Newsnight’s Martha Kearney and Carrie Gracie.

Sponsorships and partnerships have included the Media Trust, AskCharity, The Royal Bank of Scotland and CIPR.
