The Skoll World Forum is a global conference, founded by eBay founder Jeff Skoll, which brings together the world’s leading social entrepreneurs, academics, economists, business leaders and policy-makers.

Society Media has designed and delivered international media campaigns for this annual event for the last four years. We have consistently achieved high impact coverage in media outlets across the world.

The forum has attracted high profile speakers including Nobel Peace Prize Winners Al Gore, Mohammad Yunus, and R K Pachuri and former US president Jimmy Carter as well as actor Robert Redford, venture capitalist Sir Ronald Cohen, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson and rock star Peter Gabriel.

In 2009, highlights included an interview with The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship’s Director Pamela Hartigan in The Guardian, and a Financial Times news article on the Rockefeller Foundation’s $30m budget to create a social investment infrastructure.

Meanwhile, veteran business correspondent Peter Day interviewed seven social global social entrepreneurs for the BBC’s World Service Global Business programme. And Society Media also secured headline interviews with Skoll Foundation’s Chairman Jeff Skoll with the Financial Times ‘Out to Lunch’ and BBC World Service programme ‘The Interview’.

Accredited media included Radio Four The World Tonight, Prospect Magazine, Fast Company, Huffington Post and TIME magazine.

In previous years, Society Media secured an interview with Jeff Skoll and President Jimmy Carter on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme and a media partnership with Time magazine.

Liz Nelson, business development manager at the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, says: "Society Media has worked closely with us over the last four years to tangibly develop the media story for social entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurs. Through their understanding of the field and their endeavours to surface compelling stories, they have supported the growth and profile of the Skoll World Forum."

The forum is jointly delivered by the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and the Skoll Foundation, Palo Alto, California. These organisations were set up by eBay founder Jeff Skoll.
